What is HypnoBirthing?
HypnoBirthing® helps women have safer, easier, and more comfortable birth experiences. Women learn to relax and feel confident in their ability to give birth, and this is facilitated by education, relaxation, different breathing techniques, visualization, affirmations, and attention to nutrition and exercise.

HypnoBirthing® - The Mongan Method, is the original HypnoBirthing® program. It was founded in the US by Marie Mongan in 1989, and has since grown to be an International movement. Marie Mongan was a teacher, a hypnotherapist, and a mother of four. She made the connection between natural childbirth and self-hypnosis, which helped inspire her to create a program that would help women change the way they view birth.
Women often grow up being told that birth is always accompanied by excruciating pain, which will cause their bodies to fail and not be able to perform what should be a natural physiological function. The HypnoBirthing® program helps bust some of the common myths and believes surrounding birth, and educates women and their partners on how the birthing body works and what is normal and natural in birth.
HypnoBirthing® is as much a philosophy as it is a technique. It is based on tried and proven methods, and the premise that pregnancy and birth are natural and healthy events. It takes into account both the physical and mental well-being of the mother, the baby, and the birth partner, and helps parents feel confident to make the right decisions and prepare for the safe, calm, and beautiful birth they want to have. This is independent of context, whether the birth will take place at home, in a hospital, or in a birth center.
